Generation of amplitude (loudness), spectrum (frequency - Pro edition
only) and audio cue point sync data, all in one operation if required.
Compatibility with all professional sound file formats at all common
sample rates, and support for Variable Bit Rate (VBR)
and Joint-Stereo encoding in MP3 files.
Preview animated waveform and spectrum output (Pro edition only)
synched to the source sound without the need to load the data into Flash.
Batch processing of folders and sub-folders of sound files (Standard
and Pro editions only).
Smooth amplitude data to ease-in/out animations.
Set irregular spectrum bandwidths to target specific frequencies (Pro
edition only)
Limit the overall frequency range used in spectrum
analysis and output (Pro edition only)
FlashAmp has set the standard for Flash audio-sync solutions for over
8 years. It's no secret, in fact some of the world's highest-profile digital
agencies use
FlashAmp in their productions.
Updates
FlashAmp 3.1 is available from the Downloads

page if you want to upgrade from FlashAmp 2, or if you want to upgrade
to a different edition of FlashAmp 3.
What is FlashAmp?
FlashAmp is a stand-alone application that produces arrays of audio
data specifically for use with Macromedia Flash™. With some
simple Actionscript you can use FlashAmp data to synchronize
animations (or
anything else) with sound.
And you can quickly and easily lip-sync
animated characters in Flash. So now you don't have to spend hours
manually syncing mouth movements to voice on the Flash timeline.
FlashAmp creates audio amplitude, spectrum and cue point data. So
you can...
accurately synchronize animations to sound, even when streaming
animate sound waveforms
animate VU meters
use audio cue points in Flash
create graphical eq type displays (with FlashAmp Pro)
create intense frequency-based music visualizations (with FlashAmp
Pro)
Ty Lettau's Range,
built using FlashAmp, was a finalist in the Flash Film Festival at the 2005
FlashForward conference in New York. Range uses spectrum and amplitude
data created by FlashAmp. You can view more of Ty's work on our Examples
page and at his website, Sound
of Design.
DevX Article
Rich Shupe has written a comprehensive 2-part article on FlashAmp for
DevX. The articles provides a detailed step-by-step description of how
to use FlashAmp data with Flash in a variety of contexts.
New Masters of Flash, Volume 3 features
the amazing work of some renowned Flash designers. Danny Franzreb used
FlashAmp Pro for waveform animation in his chapter. See our New
Masters page for more information, examples and a Special
Offer exclusive to registered users of FlashAmp.
